Some helpful steps to help guide our customers on how best to prepare your house or business for a pest control treatment.

D-Tec Pest Solutions offers Residential and Commercial Clients safe and effective Pest Solutions for your Home and Property. Our treatments and services are all in accordance with the Australian Standard and we use environmentally friendly pest eradication solutions.

The Pesticides/Insecticides we use have a low mammalian toxicity and will generally have no odour. Our Company is committed to ensuring the safety of the people and animals on your property.

To get the best value out of your D-Tec Pest Solutions Treatment, we recommend the following:

Before Pest Treatment Recommendations

Please note our Treatments are tailored to the extent of the infestation and type of pest.

We recommend that all children, asthmatics, pregnant women and anyone with skin allergies should not re-enter the Premises where the treatment has been applied until the treatment is completely dry.
Ensure all general housekeeping is carried out prior to our service.
Mop/scrub kitchen and other hard floors and woodwork with detergent.
Thoroughly vacuum any carpeted floors. After vacuuming, take the vacuum cleaner outside, remove the vacuum bag, seal it, and discard in trash. Take a damp cloth and wipe down the entire vacuum cleaner.
All pantries should be emptied, and utensils covered before treatment commencement.

Please notify the Technician of any freshly painted surfaces prior to treatment, internally and externally.
Cover and store any open food. Remove all foods, small appliances, and other small items from countertops.
Please alert tradesmen in the roof that a Permethrin powder has been applied to roof voids. Protective clothing and respiratory protection should be worn and hands wash on exit.
If possible, move furniture away from the walls to give the pest control technician access to all corners and areas of the house or business.
Close all windows before the treatment begins.
Take all children’s toys, shoes, clothing, and books off the floor.

Animals

All Pets or Pet bowls, bedding should be removed from areas to be treated.
Fish tanks must be covered, air pumps and filters to be turned off before treatment.
Cover all animal enclosures like aquariums and cages with sheets or towels.
All Pets must be kept away from wet areas until completely dry.

After Treatment

Do-not replace items in cupboards until completely dry.
Treated areas should be thoroughly ventilated. We recommend floors remain unwashed for a minimum for 2 weeks after treatment.
Following spider treatments, webbing should be removed after 2 weeks using a web brush.
Reinstate pet bowls and sleeping arrangements. Don’t forget to refill their water.
All Children and Pets must be kept away from wet areas until completely dry.
Open windows to air house thoroughly when you return after three or four hours.
To reduce the likelihood of an infestation of cockroaches, ants, and mice in your home, you need to ensure that any food scraps and crumbs are daily cleaned from floors, bench-tops and bins.
Replace all furniture that was moved.
Wipe down all bench tops with sanitiser.
