It is essential to have an annual termite inspection for your property to help prevent and detect any termite activity or damage. With one in three homes susceptible to termite infestation and the average cost of repairs is approximately $10,000, early detection is one of the best ways to minimise attack.
D-Tec’s fully trained termite technicians are methodical in their inspections, knowing the ecology and biology of termites, assessing the conditions on your property and reporting on conducive areas and how best to protect your property.
Our fully licensed and experienced termite inspectors carry out an inspection that will encompass the entire dwelling, from the property boundary, right through the home, including the roof void. The inspection will consist of checking all accessible timbers such as skirting boards, walls and architraves, window and door frames, paying close attention to the wet areas of the house.
At D-Tec Pest Solutions, our inspection techniques include the use of the latest equipment for termite detection.
D-Tec uses the revolutionised latest in technology the T3i Termite Detection Sensor. It is the only device in the world that detects termites or pest movement through and behind any walls, ceilings or roof areas (excluding solid metals). This also includes radar, thermal and moisture sensors so we can show you the exact location of movement of the findings.
Our technicians use the infrared cameras to inspect the internal walls within buildings for temperature variations. Termites will heat or cool their gallery systems depending on the surrounding humidity. This is a non-invasive means of detection, which allows for the most thorough inspections available. The camera will find normally invisible termite activity with ease
All D-Tec termite technicians use a moisture meter. A moisture meter is a non-invasive tool used to detect termites by providing moisture readings and evaluations.
D-Tec Pest inspectors use a Borescope optical tool. This is only in cases where we need to assess the presence of termites or if there is termite damage behind the walls. In the long run, this is less destructive than removing or replacing wall paneling.
The inspector uses this high-powered light source to view areas that would otherwise not be visible by placing the thin optical fiber in a small hole in the wall.
This type of detection is used only in special cases discussed between you and the inspector.
